COVID-19 Safety Protocols

  • Proof of Vaccination will be required to enter Film Festival venues. 

  • Masks are strongly encouraged for attendees.  Staff and Volunteers are required to wear masks while working.

  • The Film Society will additionally be self-limiting theater capacities to no more than 75%.

  • The Palm Springs Film Society will require proof of vaccination at all member and community events, continue cleaning and safety procedures at venues and the office and ask volunteers, staff, and attendees to remain home with any indication of illness.  Masks are required for Film Society Staff and volunteers while working, and are strongly encouraged for attendees.

This policy will be implemented as an open-ended one, with any changes or reversals informed by updates relating to infection rates, transmission data, variant developments, and local and federal regulations.

There is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.

ATTENDEE PROMISE & HEALTH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

All attendees agree to follow festival policies (including health and safety policies) and posted instructions while at the festival. According to the CDC, older adults and people of all ages with serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19. All attendees should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend the festival. By entering the festival, attendees voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and confirm that they will adhere to local quarantine mandates and the CDC quarantine requirements, available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html.

WILL I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?

All attendees are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to wear masks. Staff and Volunteers are required to wear masks while working inside at all venues and events. Food/beverage is permitted inside the auditorium. 

Masks are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED outside of venues, while in line, or gathering in large groups.

WHAT IF I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION OR RELIGIOUS BELIEF THAT EXEMPTS ME FROM GETTING VACCINATED?

We will consider medical and religious exemptions upon submission of necessary

documentation (i.e. note from your primary care physician, a note from your religious leader) and if it is determined the exemption will not result in undue hardship to the organization.

Undue hardship includes:

  • If granting the accommodation would be costly

  • If it would compromise safety in the workplace

  • If it would decrease workplace efficiency

  • If it would infringe on the rights of other employees

  • If it would violate the terms of collective bargaining

WHAT VACCINES WILL BE ACCEPTED?

“Fully Vaccinated” in the USA is 10 days following two doses of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.  If vaccinated outside of the USA, please send verification via email to rhea@psfilmfest.org at least 7 days prior to your onsite arrival date.

WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF DOCUMENTATION FOR THE PROOF OF VACCINATION?

Valid forms of vaccination proof include a valid photo ID and:

  • Original, copy or electronic photo of the CDC vaccination card (or similar documentation issued by another foreign governmental jurisdiction); or

  • documentation from a healthcare provider; or 

  • personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by the State of California available by going to https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov; or

  • personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by another State, local, or foreign governmental jurisdiction; or

  • personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by an approved private company.

The following companies provide digital vaccine cards approved for use:

  • Bindle (must also check against a photo ID)

  • CLEAR HealthPass

  • CommonPass (must also check against a photo ID)

  • VaxYes (using their level 2 verification)

Advance reservations for most attendees, including passholders, are required (check your pass details for specifics).

Tickets sales & pass reservations will be available online & via phone. Tickets may be presented on your phone or printed at home to be scanned at time of entry. Limited walk-up box office hours will be scheduled for those needing additional assistance.

 CLEANING

We have expanded the time between screenings to allow for cleaning procedures and help reduce traffic in common areas.  High-touch surfaces and common areas will be wiped down periodically with disinfectant.
