COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The 2022 Palm Springs International ShortFest will follow all state and local recommendations and requirements in regards to COVID-19. These include the following:

  • Masks are no longer required indoors in California, with a few exceptions. But they are still strongly recommended.

The Film Society will also be self-imposing the following:

  • We encourage mask-wearing indoors and while outside in large groups.
  • We ask attendees to remain home with any indication of illness.
  • We will continue cleaning and safety procedures at venues and the office, and ask volunteers, staff, and attendees to remain home with any indication of illness.

This policy will be implemented as an open-ended one, with any changes or reversals informed by updates relating to infection rates, transmission data, variant developments, and local and federal regulations.

COVID-19 WARNING

COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. There is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.

ATTENDEE PROMISE & HEALTH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

All attendees agree to follow festival policies (including health and safety policies) and posted instructions while at the festival. According to the CDC, older adults and people of all ages with serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19. All attendees should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend the festival. By entering the festival, attendees voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and confirm that they will adhere to local quarantine mandates and the CDC quarantine requirements, available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html.

WILL I STILL HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?

Per California Department of Public Health Masks are no longer required indoors in California, with a few exceptions. But they are still strongly recommended.  The Film Society encourages our audience to wear them indoors and while outside in large groups.
