Palm Springs International Film Society Welcomes Back American Express as Presenting Sponsor of 2022 Film Awards
Palm Springs, CA (August 25, 2021) – The Palm Springs International Film Society has renewed its partnership with American Express for its fourth consecutive year as Presenting Sponsor of the Palm Springs International Film Awards. American Express will offer Card Members exclusive early access to presale tickets and VIP packages to its star-studded Film Awards (January 6, 2022) and to the Film Festival (January 6-17, 2022). Sales to the general public begin on September 1, 2021.
American Express Card Members will have exclusive access to purchase:
- Individual seats, tables and passes.
- American Express Festival Passes which includes reserved seating, concierge service, skip-the-line access for all film screenings, special presentations, and entry to Festival parties and receptions. Card Members with an American Express Festival Pass can also walk the red carpet on opening and closing night screenings as well as access the American Express Passholder Lounge.
- American Express Platinum Card® Members will also have access to exclusive VIP Packages to the Film Awards, which includes seats to the event, after party access, a private film screening, and more. In accordance with local CDC guidance, guests will be required to show proof of vaccination to attend the Palm Springs International Film Awards & Festival. For guests who are not vaccinated, COVID-19 testing will be required. Details will be provided at a later date regarding COVID-19 testing and procedures.

All of the Film Awards’ 2021 honorees received Academy Award nominations. The honorees included Riz Ahmed (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor), Viola Davis (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress), Andra Day (Breakthrough Performance Award), Anthony Hopkins (Career Achievement Award), Daniel Kaluuya (International Star Award, Actor), Carey Mulligan (International Star Award, Actress), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Spotlight Award, Actor), Gary Oldman (Chairman’s Award), Chloé Zhao (Director of the Year Award) and The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Vanguard Award). Hopkins, Kaluuya and Zhao won an Academy Award in their respective categories.
