Trivia Night

Requirements & Preparation:

• The Film Society will be using two platforms to create an interactive Trivia experience – ZOOM & KAHOOT.
• To create the best experience, it is suggested to use a computer to connect to Zoom and download the Kahoot App onto your mobile device or tablet.
• Zoom on a computer will enable you to see the trivia questions, watch any attached content and interact with other participants. (Zoom can be accessed through an app or your browser) – we suggest using the app.
• The Kahoot App will act as a controller, this is how you will record your trivia answers. You will not see the trivia questions through the app.  You will not need to create a Kahoot account to participate.
• Note: You may access Kahoot through a browser on your computer in lieu of downloading the app – we have found it difficult to toggle between the Zoom window and Kahoot window when time is a factor, but it is possible.

Steps to play:

1. Register to participate in upcoming Trivia nights above
2. Once registered, you will receive a Zoom link confirmation that may be added to your calendar. You can register at any time leading up until when that nights Trivia begins.
3. The Trivia room will open 15 minutes prior to the scheduled Trivia start time – use the Zoom link provided to enter
4. The Kahoot Pin # will be provided by your host once in zoom.
5. Open the Kahoot App on your mobile device or tablet, click the 'enter pin' icon (located bottom middle)
   1. If you choose to use Kahoot via the browser, navigate HERE.
6. Enter the Pin
7. You will be prompted for an email address & player name. Other players will see your player name, not your email. The Film society will use the email to contact prize winners.  
8. You are now ready to play!

• Trivia nights will consist of 20-25 questions which will be film and/or Film Society related.
• You will answer all questions via the Kahoot App or in the Kahoot browser window. Remember that you will not see the questions via Kahoot – questions will be viewable in Zoom.
• There are 5 types of questions.

1. Multiple Choice, choose one
2. Multiple Choice, choose all that apply
3. True/False
4. Open ended – you will be prompted to type in an answer
5. Puzzle – arrange items according to the directions

Note: Some questions will be accompanied by media – pictures or video – which are vital to answer the question correctly.

• There will be two rounds each night.  Round 1 questions will be worth 1000 points each, Round 2 questions will be worth 2000 points each.
• Points are awarded based on speed of answer. The quicker you answer, the more points you will receive (if your answer is correct).
• Kahoot will be tallying points after each question. Top two players at the end will be awarded with prizes.
• DO NOT USE back or refresh buttons, this will exit you from the game and when you rejoin, your score will be 0 – eeek!

• Be on-time; no late-comers.  The meeting will be locked before we begin the first question
• Be courteous to all players and host(s)
• Use of profane language, derogatory statements, or mistreatment of others will not be tolerated
• Keep player names family friendly
• While questions are being read, please refrain from talking and/or mute yourself.
• The host or Film Society has the right to remove players from the Zoom at any time
