film synopsis
When snooty "Lady" Sandra Abbott discovers that her husband of 40 years has been having an affair with her best friend, she packs her designer bags and flees to the shabby council flat of her estranged older sister Bif. A confirmed bohemian, Bif's loose and lively lifestyle couldn't be more different from her genteel sister's. Sandra eventually lets Bif drag her, protesting, to a community dance class, where she will take her first cautious steps toward a new lease on life. Underscoring a story of once-close sisters healing the divides of time is a motley lineup of Bif’s friends and neighbors who, each in their own way, help to bring Sandra out of her shell.
A sterling British cast including Imelda Staunton, Timothy Spall, Celia Emrie and Joanna Lumley give their all in Richard Loncraine's heartwarming romantic comedy, which demonstrates that it's never too late to change partners and dance.
