film synopsis

"Take one Spaghetti Western, add a pinch of 40's Gangster films and a liberal dose of romance and loss and you have the ingredients for this highly stylized and original love story that entertains from start to finish. Star-crossed lovers Dum and Rumpoey first meet as children. He is the son of a village chief, she the daughter of a wealthy Bangkok family. Though their love is clearly the "forever" kind, fate is destined to keep them apart -- even as it brings them together time and again. When Dum's father is murdered, he joins an outlaw gang to avenge his death and becomes known as the "Black Tiger." And Rumpoey, whose father is now the governor, is forced to accept an arranged marriage. When Dum discovers a plot to attack the wedding party, he cannot stay away from the woman he loves. This color-drenched shoot-him-up is an original slick ode to the melodramas of yesteryear." -PSIFF 2002
