film synopsis

In this charming exploration of family history, a group of distant cousins learn about their relationship to an extraordinary young woman named Adèle, and one of France’s most famous impressionists. The soufflé-light dramedy moves nimbly backwards and forwards in time: between the contemporary group brought together by an unexpected inheritance and the Paris of the late 1890s, where the newly built Eiffel Tower, electric lights, photography, and the Impressionist movement signal a modern future making its presence felt. Winner: Audience Award, American French Film Festival.
