In this clever humanist comedy, a pensionless widower trapped in a care facility against his will reinvents himself as a cannabis entrepreneur in an inspired attempt to buy back his family home.

film synopsis

In this clever humanist comedy from the producer of Maktub (PSIFF 2018), Forgiveness (PSIFF 2020) and Douze Points (PSIFF 2020), 75-year-old widower Dov (Shlomo Baraba) is moved into a nursing home against his will and, unsurprisingly, he can’t stand it. His dreams of buying back his old house and returning to live there are held up since losing his pension. But when Dov realizes that other patients in the nursing home use state-sponsored medical marijuana, he hatches an inspired plan: to reinvent himself as a cannabis entrepreneur. But when love, the police and the local mafia enter the picture, Dov finds himself at a crossroads where he has to decide whether he would be willing to risk everything for what really matters to him.
