director biography

Christine Haroutounian is a director, writer, and producer working in Los Angeles and Armenia. Her short film, Fixed Water, had its world premiere in the Official Selection at the 2019 Palm Springs International ShortFest and has received several awards for artistic merit, including the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Directing Fellowship Award and the Shirley Clarke Memorial Fund Award. Christine studied Art at UCLA, which informs her cinematographic portraits of transnationalism. She holds an MFA in Directing/Producing from the UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television. Her graduate thesis film, World, was shot in the Armenian countryside and will premiere in festivals in 2020. Christine is currently writing her first feature film, After Dreaming, a coming-of-age experimental drama set in post-Soviet Armenia.
