film synopsis
Syria. Ukraine. The United States. “Historically, it happens everywhere.” Documenting the devastating realities of wartime rape, sexual torture, and prisoner abuse, this extraordinary animated transmedia film by directors Nicolas Blies and Stephane Hueber-Blies sheds light on a number of crimes against humanity that have occurred around the world — crimes that have, sadly, been committed with relative impunity. Enter the #ZeroImpunity project, both a documentary and a social movement, which seeks to raise awareness of these crimes, give voice to the voiceless, and become a force for change at an international level. The film’s scathing critique of the United Nations — just one of many organizations held accountable here — underlines just how large Zero Impunity is, both in scope and in stakes. Ambitious, eye-opening and utterly vital, this is a collection of stories that must be told.
