film synopsis
Gaza is a film about ordinary people: a taxi driver, a boy who dreams of being a fisherman, a paramedic, an aspiring rapper, and a number of others. Their stories, however, are extraordinary because they are among the almost two million Palestinians living in the 141-square-mile territory known as the Gaza Strip. Despite the often harrowing and tragic circumstances in which they find themselves, the people profiled here remain resilient, capable of hope and able to adapt. They share their feelings, their histories and their dreams in order to inspire others to act against injustice. Through its portraits of Palestinians from all walks of life, this beautifully photographed documentary takes viewers beyond stereotypes and preconceptions, providing a sense of what daily life is actually like in the Gaza Strip. It’s an eye-opening experience that shows that the conflicts reported by the news are far from the full story.
