film synopsis
Mary Beth (Morgan Saylor) and Priscilla (Sophie Lowe) are sisters living in a small New England fishing town who find themselves in too deep after the death of their mother forces them to sell the family home. After her hopes of attending college are also lost, Mary Beth stumbles into a crime that requires Priscilla’s help in covering up. Soon their mother’s cohorts begin to encroach upon them, revealing a quietly hidden criminal underbelly led by the cunning matron Enid Nora Devlin (the spectacular Margo Martindale). Bursting at the seams with an ensemble of stellar character actresses including Gayle Rankin (GLOW) and Oscar® nominee June Squibb (Nebraska), directors Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy’s rich examination of women operating outside of the law in small-town America is an evocative blend of subtle humor and tension that unabashedly celebrates female community.
