film synopsis
Two vastly different Italian families are summering side by side on the beautiful seaside estate of the Castellvecchios’, an aristocratic, bohemian tribe lorded over by suave grandpa Tony. Their temporary neighbors are the working class Patagnas, the head of whom is the rugged but sensitive fisherman Carlo, there with his extended and very conservative family. They have been summoned for a wedding announcement: widower Carlo is getting married again. To the silver fox Tony. This startling announcement sets this delightful Italian farce into manic overdrive, as a summer vacation erupts into class and sexual warfare. Carlo’s homophobic son explodes. Tony’s resentful daughter seethes. The two join forces, hatching a sneaky plot to disrupt the nuptials. Can the love these two men feel for each other survive the storm? Can these two proud families overcome their prejudices?
