film synopsis

In this enthralling and inspiring narrative, one of India’s most successful and outspoken directors, Anurag Kashyap (Gangs of Wasseypur), takes us on an action-packed, romantic ride based on true events.

A lower-class boxer who calls himself the Mike Tyson of India, Shravan is determined to win the world title and make his mark on the boxing world. He knocks around a gym where his Brahmin boss Bhagwan Das calls all the shots. A ruthless gangster-politician, Das uses mob violence as a political tool, treats his boxers as his servants and even tyrannizes his own family. When Shravan and Das’s niece fall in love, all hell breaks loose. As the head of the boxing federation, Das will see to it that Shravan’s life and future are very much in doubt. It will take all of Shravan’s ingenuity and grit to rise above the injustices that keep underdogs like him down.
