2017 PS Film Festival
film synopsis
"Dallas for the insane," according to writer/director/producer David Schalko, this decadent and depraved eight-part Austrian TV series has something for everyone: murder, incest, corruption... and Palm Springs' very own Udo Kier in what may be the role of a lifetime.
Kier stars as ailing Viennese billionaire Rolf Rauchensteiner, the patriarch of an extremely dysfunctional clan. In sudden, dire need of a new liver, he calls his extended family together and tells them that whoever can get their hands on an organ will receive the entire estate. Cue an absurd, amoral scramble, every double-dealing man and woman for themselves. Both a satire on the super-rich and a gloriously baroque binge-watch, Old Money would be the very definition of a guilty pleasure, if guilt wasn't such an anachronistic concept these days.
Udo Kier and David Schalko will present the film.
