The Palm Springs International Film Society is always looking for bright interns who want to learn more about film, communications, event planning and business management.  Internships vary in length, however, you can expect to work a minimum of 20 hours a week for at least 6 weeks.

We have two festivals a year and it takes an enormous amount of planning and hard work to be successful. If you have an interest in film and the arts, and want to know exactly what goes into the operation of world renowned film festival, we encourage you to apply. All interested parties must submit a resume and a letter of interest. 

INTERNSHIP POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Special Events: This internship will provide the participant with insight and practical experience into the corporate event planning and other development initiatives that support the festival. Individual responsibilities will include such tasks as maintaining sponsorship information, fulfilling sponsor benefits, assisting with decor and venue set up, assisting with the solicitation of items and providing general clerical support. (Jun 1-Jun 30 or Dec 1-Jan 31)

Programming: This internship will provide the participant with insight and practical experience into the programming of a festival and other initiatives that support the festival. Individual responsibilities will include such tasks as maintaining accurate records for films, collecting promotional materials, verifying information for publications, communication with guests and the guest department regaridng filmmaker attendance and more.  (Mar 1-Jun 30 or Nov 1-Jan 31)

Marketing and Publicty: This position is for an individual with an interest in marketing and communications. This intern will work directly with the Marketing and Publicity Manager who oversees marketing and materials (grass roots to international), print advertising - print, TV and radio, design, photography, publicity and more. (May 1-Jun 30 or Oct 1-Jan 31)

QUALIFICATIONS
We ask that our interns have a strong interest in the field they are pursuing, whether it is film, communications/marketing or event planning, and able to commit to working at least 20 hours per week for a minimum of 6 weeks. Must have a strong work ethic, be computer proficient and be a team player.
