PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL SHORTFEST: FILM MARKET
What is a Film Market? A film market is a place where accredited film buyers, distributors, and other industry professionals can view many films in one location. In the Film Market there is a library of all films submitted this year for consideration for the Palm Springs International ShortFest along with 20 viewing stations. It is here that industry professionals, media and other filmmakers can view the films. The Industry professionals will have priority for the viewing stations. Filmmakers are encouraged to bring additional screening copies and press kits to hand out to industry and media for additional exposure. Inside the Film Market filmmakers can place postcards on the tables. Some filmmakers may also have small promotional items to draw attention to their film (i.e. pens, buttons, etc.). Posters can be displayed in the Market and the Stella Artois Filmmakers Lounge. Posters, if not provided in advance, may be given to the Hospitality Coordinator or the Film Market Manager who will put the posters up at their discretion. 24”x36”posters are preferred for these locations. ShortFest is an incredible way to network not only through the film market but in the Stella Artois Filmmaker Lounge, Forums and at the filmmaker parties. In these locations, filmmakers will have the opportunity to meet members of the film industry and media and encourage them to look at their film, and to discuss future projects. Film Market is open daily June 19-24 from 9am to 6pm, and June 25 from 9am to noon.
