Two years after dumping his ex-boyfriend Jonathan and making an abrupt departure for Spain, Troy arrives back in Los Angeles hoping to pick up where he’d left off. He calls Jonathan, who agrees to meet despite his misgivings and the fact that he is now happily coupled with hunky Latin émigré Raul. Over coffee, Jonathan initially resists his former lover’s obvious charms, though Troy attempts to revive passions past. But as Troy persists, Jonathan finds himself drawn to his handsome ex once again, much like an addict who thinks he’s kicked his habit but finds his former longings come roaring back full force.Director Eldar Rapaport invests his tale of a man trying to pick up the pieces of a relationship he’d left behind with both passion and restraint, probing deeply into the emotional consequences inherent in a three-sided romantic tug-of-war even as he explores the sensual possibilities of such a conflict. And though dialogue is pared to a minimum in favor of visual cues, what remains unsaid is expressed eloquently in every yearning glance and evocative image on view.
Actor Daniel Dugan and Cinematographer James Adolphus are expected to attend both screenings.
