This scathing allegory for a country’s apathy centers on Salvador, a Colombian farmer, who gets up one morning and finds fresh tire tracks running through his cornfield that lead to a pile of dead bodies. He rushes into town to alert the authorities, but it soon becomes clear that nobody wants to go to the trouble of conducting a serious investigation. At first the suspicion falls on Salvador and his family, but even as other unlikely theories are floated, his predicament becomes increasingly absurd. Director Carlos Moreno, whose 2008 debut Dog Eat Dogwas a major international hit, returns with a suspenseful social thriller, co-written with Alonso Torres. Shot under a scorching sun with a vivid sense of place by cinematographer Diego Jimenez, and brought to life by a top-notch ensemble of character actors led by Alvaro Rodriguez, All Your Dead Ones uses dark humor to turn the spotlight on the complicity of Colombia’s political institutions in violent crime.
