director biography
Miguel Faus is a writer/director from Barcelona, living in London. He recently graduated with an MA Filmmaking from The London Film School, where he wrote and directed the short films The Death of Don Quixote, which won the Meliès d'Argent at the 51st Sitges International Film Festival, and Calladita, currently on the festival circuit. In 2014, he started writing about cinema for Jot Down Magazine and Miradas de Cine, were he has published lengthy interviews with several acclaimed directors: Paweł Pawlikowski, Olivier Assayas, Albert Serra, Terence Davies, Whit Stillman, Pedro Costa, Jaime Rosales, Isaki Lacuesta, Oliver Laxe, and others. In 2015 he graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration from ESADE, and completed the first half of a Bachelor in Humanities at University Pompeu Fabra. After college, he worked as a copywriter in several offices of a Spanish advertising agency, SCPF, for clients like BMW, IKEA and San Miguel. He is currently at work expanding Calladita into a feature film, following its selection by the prestigious Spanish development program DAMA Ayuda, as well as by Jim Cumming's Short to Feature Lab in L.A.
