Writer/director Léonor Serraille bursts onto the scene with her character-driven debut feature film that paints a portrait of a sometimes frustrating, yet inexplicably charming young woman. Paula, whose loneliness is clearly affecting her mental health, mistakenly assumes she can move back in with her ex after abruptly returning to Paris from an extended stay in Mexico. She instead drifts around Paris, relying on a bit of luck and her innate resourcefulness to get herself through each day. A chance encounter on a train leads to a job as a nanny for a young girl, spurring Paula to begin to face responsibility and setting her on a journey of inner growth.

Serraille and her predominantly female crew bring a cinematic naturalism to their freewheeling lead character, and Laetitia Dosch is utterly unforgettable as Paula, vividly embodying the difficult but necessary (and sometimes humorous) process of claiming one’s own identity.
